April Book Club: The Gifts of Imperfection
The memory-keeper in me wants to record every book club gathering in some way, even if the only photo I took last time was of the food?! I meant to bring the camera outside for a group shot, but I got distracted. I'll blame Duke the dog, since I blame him for everything else anyway.
My favorite moments: when Duke almost took down the table, Nicole's story of Bailey's first interactions with her, CeCe's beautiful vulnerability---personifying everything our book was about, Catherine's discussion of how we can add more play to our lives, Christy's point that Moab rejects many of the typical American "perform/be perfect" expectations---and Liz's counterpoint that Moab can also make being relaxed/unconventional its own high standard for competition.
There was lots of pizza leftover but we finished all the sangria. A perfectly imperfect evening under stars.
